My Morning Walk

With both boys in school in the morning, I have discovered that I love going on walks by myself.  I found a few great trails and go on walks that are about a mile.  Some days I would be feeling really down and don't know how I would get through the day somewhat happy. On those days, I would just keep walking.  Another mile or two maybe.  It's amazing relief and I always feel better after.

Kindergarten Preview Day

Today, Kayton's preschool took the kids who will be in Kindergarten for a trip to their new schools.  We went to the Linden classroom where the teacher Mrs. Sherman had a special activity planned for them.  He got to learn about plants and colored a picture with the other kids.   He loved every minute of feeling like he was in Kindergarten.  He is too excited for next year.

After he was done in the classroom, we decided to stay later and have lunch with Daddy at his school.  We got to eat cafeteria food and then Kayton got to go out and play with the kids for recess.  It was a fun day for him and I feel a little bitter sweet about Kayton going to Kindergarten next year.

Southwest Cajun Festival

Nate's and his friend Mike got to go to a boys weekend together.  They found out about a Southwest Cajun Festival that was in the valley.  They were excited about the food, but the main thing was a jazz band that was one of the main performers of the day, the Big Bad Voodoo Daddy.  I was a little jealous that he got to go down and have so much fun.  He needed it and I was glad he had fun.

These are all the pictures he sent me while he was there.

Head Start Art Show

The boys preschool decided to have an art show.  They took time during class to have them paint pictures so that they could showcase them.  There was also snacks and a fundraiser auction to help pay for end of the year things.  It was such a success and I loved all the creative pictures they had all around the room.  Kayton was so proud of what he made and couldn't wait to show it to us.
For this picture, they showed the kids a real painting and told them to copy it on their paper.  It was "The Brooklyn Bridge"

Sister Taylor

Today we said goodbye to our lovely sister missionary, Sis. Taylor.  She has been in our ward for a few months now and we have become really close to her.  She is like a sister to us and we were so sad to see her go.  We know she is needed other places, but she will be done soon and we are already planning on seeing her again when she is done.

Easter Day 2015/Conference

Easter was on Conference weekend this month and we got lucky that Tyler, Megan, Dallin, and April came to town.  Conference was amazing and had just the things I needed to hear.  On Saturday night during Priesthood session, Nate went to go with his friend, so we had the house for the girls.  Mom, Susan, April, and Megan came over. We ate dinner together and decorated Easter cookies together and payed a game.  I loved having everyone here.
On Easter Sunday, we didn't do any Easter bunny or anything this time. We watched the first session of conference at our house then headed out to my mom's house for the rest of the day. We watched the 2nd session and then had dinner and enjoyed each other until everyone had to leave to get back to the valley.
Dallin played with Kayton so we could watch some of it.
Happy Easter!  We know He lives and this is the reason for Easter.  It's was an amazing Easter Sunday.

Kindergarten Ready

Today was Kindergarten registration for Kayton.  I can't believe how smart he is and all the stuff he already knows.  He sat there and read different things and told them what colors and shapes there were.  She said he did really well and he is so excited for Kindergarten to come.  We just need to help him get through this last little bit of preschool.
