Merrick's 6th Birthday

We got to celebrate our sweet Merrick turning 6 today!  He is just so sweet and kind to everyone and loves doing things for his friends.  We did a little celebrating on his actual birthday but letting him pick dinner and then going to Dairy Queen with our neighbors.

Later in the week, we went all out with a Pokemon party at the park.  We weren't sure if we were going to be able to do it since it was raining on and off all day, but it worked out great.  We had hot dogs for everyone, then they played and every one got a little Pokeball and ears to wear of a character.  Thanks to our amazing friends, we had some amazing cake to go with it all.

Fun story about the picture above.  The fire station is right by the park and they saw we were out there needing to use the ramada, but it had water all over. They were nice enough to come out with a big squeegee and cleaned it off for us.  Later they came and brought out a present for Merrick and glow sticks for the rest of the kids.  They boys loved getting to be with the real firemen and it was so sweet of them.  Later, they ended up saving the party because we forgot a lighter for the candle and sure enough, one of them had a lighter for us.
This is the last party with Uncle Brent until he goes on his mission.
Merrick loved his party and it was a great success!  Happy 6th birthday Merrick!

Pioneer Day Parade

We love getting to go to the Pioneer Day Parade.  It's always more fun when our cousins are there and we get to watch with them.
In the parade we saw a few fun floats.  My favorite was Moana and Maui and then we got to see Daddy playing his tuba on a float.
After it was over, we went to do some shopping and got some yummy Sodalicious!

Ipod's

So Nate and I have some old Ipod's from years ago and since we don't use them anymore, we decided to charge them up, make a kids playlist, and we gave them to the boys.  Since we did, they have gone everywhere with them and just keep those headphones in as long as they can even while they were eating lunch.  I remember feeling like that too when I got mine.

New Job

Today is a big day.  Nate has decided to not sign his contract for this next school year and look for a new job that will work better for our family and make it easier for me to be able to stay home with the kids.  He searched all summer and we felt like we just needed to stay in Show Low for now.  He ended up getting a job for the Department of Child Safety which use to be CPS.  He investigates tips that come in regarding children and if they are in a safe environment or not.  He starts today but won't be able to do the job on his own until he completes about 8 weeks of training which he will have to do in the valley or Tucson.  While it sounds hard and it is definitely going to be a big change, we feel like it's the right thing for us now and are grateful he was able to find this job.

Soccer Time

Just like that, it's time for soccer season again.  The boys had their first practice with their coach tonight and it's Merrick's first year playing!  We can't wait and we like that they are on the same team.

Jaxton turns 1!

It's so hard to realize my baby is 1.  He is such a sweetheart and we love having him in our family.  He is walking like a pro, has about 8 teeth, loves eating everyone else's food.  He loves playing around with his brothers and his Daddy.  He is still very much a mommy's boy and doesn't like to be without me.  For his birthday, we just had some family and our neighbors over for some cake and ice cream. He was spoiled with presents and looked so cute covered in cake even though he didn't really want anything to do with the cake.  We loved celebrating him, and he loved being the center of attention!  He is currently 21.9 lbs and is 31 inches long.
For the cake, we did a farm animals theme because he has a game on my phone that he loves to play where he finds different farm animals in a barn.  It turned out really cute!
