Reading Books

Kayton has become interested in reading on his own lately.  He can read a lot of little words and so we have been trying to get him to read more and this was one of the good nights where he and Merrick actually sat down and wanted to do almost a full book.  Of course, Merrick loves doing the same thing Kayton is doing so he got in on the action too.  He has a few books almost memorized. These are definitely those little moments that I love.

Brooke's New Job

Today was my first day of my new job.  I am teaching K-6 PE between 2 schools.  2 classes at the Junior High every day and then 4 Linden classes every day but Thursday, same as Nate's schedule. I am a mix of emotions right now as to how I really feel.  Excited, nervous, scared beyond all reason, and sad.  We feel like it's the right thing to do for now since we need some health benefits and I need something to keep my mind occupied from my depression.

Avenger's Toys

The kids got these Avenger's toys for Christmas.  An Iron Man and Captain America.  Just this weekend, they have decided to take them everywhere with them.  It has been so cute.

Taking them to bed, and going to the park.

Park walks and playing

Since I am starting a PE teaching job, and I just overall need to get healthy again.  So I found this great trail at the park that is a mile long and I went almost everyday this week to take a walk.  Just walking has made a huge difference and I feel great again.  It also is nice to be walking in the pine trees too.

One day, I had the boys with me and so they got to ride in the stroller and I pushed.  Then we stayed at the park and they played. It was a great morning and they just loved being pushed on the swings. I sure love these boys and seeing their happy faces.a

FHE with a trumpet

Life is never dull when your husband plays instruments. This time he came home with a trumpet and  wanted to play the kids songs with us for FHE.  The kids loved it and Merrick even grabbed his little guitar so he could play with Daddy too.

Temple Goal

During tithing settlement, we were challenged to go to the temple on a monthly basis this year and make sure we never miss it.  We have decided to do take the challenge and so far so good. We went today and I so glad we did. I can't wait until the end of the year to say that we finished our goal.

Merrick is a Sunbeam

It's really hard for me to comprehend that Merrick is a Sunbeam in Primary now.  He has been excited for so long to go to Primary like Kayton and now he gets to.  It was a good day even though he had a little problem about me going to sit and play the piano.  I just love him and am grateful that he is in Primary now.

Peterclans lunch and gift exchange

Since there are so many siblings, we draw names to see who gives to who for Christmas.  This year we held off on giving the gifts to everyone until we were all together.  So after pictures, we went to a church where we had lunch and did the present exchange.

When everyone was done eating, the grandkids all got a present from Grandma and Grandpa.  They each got a monster truck toy that they just drove around and took great pride in the rest of the day.

After the grandkids got their presents, it was time for the sibling exchange. We gave to Brent and I made him a collage of pictures I had taken of him from his football season.  It turned out cool and I think he liked it.

Dallin and April had us.  I told them to get something that was good for the kids and they did perfect.  They found a remote control flying saucer/ship thing.  They love it to say the least.
Of course, they charged it right up and tried it out while we were there.  Flying toys were definitely a trend in the family this Christmas.
After we cleaned up a little, Mom announced that we were going to be playing knockout.  One game for the girls, and one game for the boys.  Whoever won got $10.  Milissa won the girls, and Dallin won the boys. I held in there pretty well until there were 3 left.
The boys turn
Nate and his mad skills.

All fun had to end soon, and it did.  We all packed up and headed our own ways.  It was a fun day and when it was over, it finally felt like Christmas was over for us.  We headed back home that night.

Peterclans Family Pictures

For Mom's Christmas present, all she wanted was to have everyone together for pictures and have a lunch together.  Well she got it.  Here is her family pictures.
