It was the start of summer and Nate's fishing license was about to expire so thought it would be fun to go fishing. The boys love using their little poles and having Dad help them with their bait.
Merrick would say something almost every time he cast off like "I'm gonna get one this time"
Merrick had his last day of school on the 25th. His teacher had a little ceremony and they sang a few songs then got to come up and get a certificate. She asked them what they wanted to be when they grew up and Merrick said a racecar driver.
Merrick with Mrs. Perla. She was amazing and helped him grow so much and come out of his shell. He is so excited for Kindergarten next year.
Kayton with Mrs. Douglass. I can't imagine him having a better teacher that helped him so much this year. Switching classes during the school year was definitely the right option for him and I am so grateful.

As a staff member of the high school this year, I was wanting to go and see the graduation ceremony since some of my WMI students were graduating and a few family friends too.
At the end of the ceremony, I got to go down and hug a bunch of kids that I knew then I found my old friend Trista! She came from out of town and I was so excited to see her.
We love the end of school year. Since Nate is a teacher it feels like it's family time and we get to enjoy ourselves since we all get to be home with no work.
Our anniversary always come in the last few weeks of school and this year I was pregnant so we didn't do too much to celebrate. We did get to go eat at R & R Pizza for lunch that weekend. I sure love this guy and what a hard worker he is. I can't believe it's been 9 years. We have been through so much lately and I'm glad he has been the one by my side and we have gotten each other through it all. Here's to eternity!
One of the things I was excited about with kids being in school was the concerts and programs I get to go to. Kayton was in 2 of them at the end of the year. The first one was everyone dressed up nice and each grade sang 2 songs. It was really cute and Kayton looked really handsome even though he really didn't want to dress up.
Then a week later, all of the Kindergarten teachers put together a Kindergarten celebration. It was a little like a graduation, but all the kids just took turns walking across the stage, stopping to wave to everyone, and going to their spot. When it was all over, they got a Certificate of Completion from his teacher. The theme was Under the Sea and after they walked across the stage, the kids sang songs that were water themed. They had actions to go with each song and I thought it was just the cutest thing ever.
My little boy is all finished with Kindergarten. He is so excited to be a 1st grader. I thought he did so good this year and we loved his teacher and the class he was in.
The boys have been so obsessed with the game I knew I just had to document it. I bought an Uno game that had the Avengers on the cards and I think that's what makes it the most fun. They both learned how to play the game really well so now they play it at least 3 or even 5 times in a row. Nate loves sitting and playing with them too after a long day. I think I may be turning them into card sharks. They definitely say some funny things while playing.
Both bottom teeth are officially gone now. He was so excited for it to come out so the tooth fairy could come visit him. He could feel that it was loose enough so he asked his Daddy to pull it out before he went to bed. He did so good with it and didn't care that it bled a little bit.
We feel so lucky to have new friends in our lives. Ben and Chelsea Davis moved here last year and we have become such good friends. Our boys are so close in age and love playing together. We got invited to help celebrate Carter's birthday by going bowling with them. My boys were in heaven.
They thought that if they sat down after they rolled the ball then it would roll better. It really just wasn't fun standing there and watching it roll for forever.
Then later that weekend we got invited to their house for the real party. There was yummy food, games, and a piñata.
The boys found a cool seed outside and they thought that if they would plant it in the yard then the rain would make it grow into a big huge tree. They dug the whole and watered it and everything.
With me working this year, I have missed out on hanging out with this little kid in the afternoon when his is not in school. Today I got to take the afternoon off and we went to get corn dogs together for lunch. They are his favorite and I loved all of it.
