Date Night
Thanks to our awesome friends, Jared and Janina, we were able to go out on a date last night. It wasn't much, but we went to the movies and saw Salt.

It was a great movie. We both loved it and definitely recommend it to all. I'm not much of a girl for going to movies at the theater and paying that much money, but it was worth it. Then afterward, we treated ourselves to some ice cream from Dairy Queen. Nate owed me an ice cream sandwich from a bet we made a long time ago so it worked out for both of us. I miss going out on dates and we had a great time together last night. Love you honey!

It comes naturally
I was in the mood today to play the piano for a little bit and Kayton decided to crawl over and play too. He started banging away and had a blast. We decided that it's just such a natural talent for him. Yay!

It's Starting
He is starting that stage of everything he does is something that scares me a little bit. Like the other day, he was playing on the floor while we were eating lunch and we look over at him and see this.

Yup, he crawled through the chair. He ended up getting stuck and couldn't push himself anymore so we had to pull him out. He was super cute. Then yesterday, I went to go check on him while he was trying to go to sleep, and he figured out how to pull himself up in the corner of his crib so that he was standing up. Thank heavens it was one of the back corners. I guess it's time to move the mattress down some more.
(reenactment)
This boy isn't scared. If he is sitting on our laps, he will just dive off to try to get onto the floor. He is crazy, but we love him.

Cute Kayton
We have been having alot of fun with Kayton these last few weeks. Now that he is on the move and pretty much crawling, we are able to do new things with him.
The other day I was sitting on the computer and Nate and Kayton were in the bedroom. All the sudden I can hear this weird sound through the baby monitor that sounded like Nate was using his drill. I get up to go check and see what is going on and I come around the corner and see this.
We also have discovered that if the right show is on, Kayton will sit on our laps and watch that show. The other day, we turned on Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. It's on in the mornings on Disney Channel and he sat there so content with Nate and watched it. Every time Mickey came on the screen, he would sit forward a little bit and make a cute little sound. Such a cute kid.

Family Pictures
We haven't taken a picture of the 3 of us together since Kayton was 1 month. I convinced Nate to let us take some pictures and get all dressed up and stuff. He agreed and we got our awesome friend Kimbi to take the pictures for us. We drove down the road a little bit and here are some of my favorites.

He is on the move
Kayton has mastered the art of scooting. He looks like he is close to crawling, but he doesn't like to go very far. He loves his new found freedom. I love it when I am in the kitchen and I look over while he is playing on the floor in the living room and he has crawled into his little box of toys.
He is still having a hard time with wanting to sit up but he is starting to learn that he can stand up and lean on things too. I can't believe how big my little boy is! I have a little video of him but I can't get it to upload right now so I will try again soon.
My Shelf
Ever since we have moved into our new apartment, Nate has said that he has wanted to make a shelf to go over my oven for my microwave to sit on. We have hardly any counter space so I was very excited for it. Well, this last weekend, it finally got done and I love it! Thanks honey! It makes my kitchen feel so much more usable.

We still may stain it and trim it down a little more, but it is really sturdy and awesome!
