It's Summertime

Summer time means fun times by the pool in our own backyard. 

 

Nate end of school year

One of the last days of school was just a fun party day for all of Linden school.  One of the events is a tug of war contest.  All the grades fight to the end and then the last class standing gets to play against the teachers.  It was 5th grade verses teachers.  5th grade won! 

Family Fun Park

We love our little fun park here.  It is only open during the summer months and right before they open, there are one or two opportunities for us to go for free. The kids love the little Lightning McQueen cars and letting Dad and Uncle Brent take them for rides in the big cars.

We love the games they have too. Putt Putt and arcade games.

Another day was right before they officially opened, they had a test run day where it was free for the community to make sure that everything was working right. We got our friends to go with us too.

Preschool End of Year

The last day of school is always fun.  The kids get to wear matching shirts and each class performs some songs that they have been working on all year.  I was a little bummed because when we got there Merrick got scared and sad and decided not to go up and sit with his class.  He sat on my lap the whole time and only went up to get his certificate from his teacher.  Kayton on the other hand, was so excited, he ran up to sit with his class and performed his songs so well.  I love getting to go and watch them.

Kayton Preschool Graduation

Tonight, Kayton was invited to a Kindergarten celebration at his preschool.  I had no idea it was going to be a little graduation ceremony.  All the sudden, in comes all the kids who are graduating and going on to Kindergarten wearing these cute little paper caps with real tassels that had 2015 on them, and paper sash.  They walked in and sat down, listened to the director talk for a little bit.  Then it was time to go up.  They called everyone one at a time to go get their certificates.  Kayton is so excited for Kindergarten, he doesn't want to wait for the whole summer before he starts going to real school.

After the little ceremony, they had pizza and cake then had a slideshow to play with pictures of all the kids.  They sat and watched it and got so excited to see themselves on the screen.

Kids Field Day

The last week of school is always fun.  I'm grateful that I was able to volunteer to go and play with them all morning.  We walked over to a different school where they set up lots of different stations set up to play at.  There were balls to throw, a parachute to play with, and things to run and jump over.  It took some convincing to get the boys do some of the stuff.  I'm glad the boys had this preschool to go to last year.  It was a great experience for them and I can't believe how big they are.
