Halloween Night

On Halloween, we weren't planning on doing anything, but we decided to make a night of it with the Davis'.  Us mom's got dressed up with the kids, we went trick or treating in a neighborhood near our house, and our husbands stayed home to make a Halloween dinner for us.  It included pizza that looked like a pumpkin, mummy hot dogs, and then the kids got to decorate sugar cookies. I think this is one of the first times I have gone door to door with the kids and we had such a fun time!

Linden Fall Carnival

Poor Nate is the only male teacher at school this year and sometimes the dirty and silly things fall on him.  This carnival was an example of that.  There were all kinds of fun carnival games and activities for the kids to do that day.  Nate got the honor of being in charge of the Pie in the Face game.  Kids got to pay 50 cents to spin and see how many click they got to try to see if they could hit Mr. Adams in the face with the cool whip.  It's a fun game and the kids thought it was a blast to get to do it.  Nate definitely had a lot of cool whip to clean off throughout the day.

School Costume Parade

The last school day before Halloween, they allow the kids to wear their costumes to school and then have a parade in the gym to march around and show off their costumes.  They thought it was fun.  Merrick is my little red Power Ranger, and Kayton was War Machine from one of the Iron Man movies.  Blue outfit with Blue mask.

Merrick is Reading

Now that Merrick is a few months into Kindergarten, his teacher has been sending home little books for him to read every day after school.  His homework is to read it 3 times before giving it back and then testing on it.  Kayton picked up reading really easy and it's been so fun to watch Merrick learn how to read and love it.  The books are so cute and easy for him and he is so proud of being able to read a book all by himself.

Ward Halloween Carnival

The YM and YW in our ward put on a little carnival for the kids with all kinds of things to do.  Games, face painting, cotton candy, everything the kids could want.

Carving pumpkins

Carving the pumpkins that the boys picked from their field trips. We told them to draw what they wanted the face to look like on paper and then we helped them cut it out.  They also did most of the dirty work pulling the seeds out.  They had more fun with it this year.

Primary Program

It's everyone's favorite Sunday, the day of the Primary Program.  This was the first year that I wasn't playing the piano and got to just sit and watch my kids.  I loved it and thought they did great.  Surprisingly, Merrick was the child who was the loud one in the microphone this year and not Kayton.  It was a special Sunday.

Kayton playing soccer

We told the kids this year that they could pick one sport to play. Kayton chose soccer.  I am so glad he did.  He did such an amazing job all season long and was so excited every time there was a game or even practice.  I was so proud of him and loved getting to go and cheer him on.  We are both already excited for next season.
Practice, practice, practice.
He got his first injury running into someone

Part of his cheerleaders

It was his first game.  He got to kick the ball to start off the game.
He also scored the last goal of the game to help his team win.  He was so excited.
He usually did pretty good playing and staying focused and understanding the rules of it all.  I know he still has a long way to go but I think he did awesome for his first year playing.
His team was called Black Ninja's. They had a good season and he had so much fun with his teammates.
He couldn't wait to get his medal.
Such a handsome soccer stud!
