All about Nate

I saw this on someone else's blog and just thought it would be fun to put a little more about Nate on here.

1. What is his name? Nathan Duane Adams

2. Who eats more? Definately him...no questions asked

3. Who said I love you first? He did. It had been a long night and he was almost asleep when he said it, so I didn't respond until a day or two later when I knew he meant it.

4. Who is taller? He is, by like 5 inches

5. Who is smarter? I would say are equal, but put us together and we could be a genius. He knows more things about science and the weather and I know more about technology stuff.

6. Who is more sensitive? I would say we are equal there too. We both let things bother us and feel bad when we hurt someone.

7. Who sleeps on the right side of the bed? He does. The only reason for that was when we moved to Colorado, the right side of the bed was closer to the window and the left side of the bed was closer to the heater and I didn't want to sleep by the window and he didn't want to sleep by the heater, so we have been that way since.

8. Who pays the bills? I do. It's probably not a good thing because I know how much money is where so sometimes I buy things I shouldn't because I know that the money is there but I have less things to stress about so I take the heat on this one.

9. Who cooks more? I do for sure. He can cook if he wants to but I always make him do the roast in the crock pot because he does just the right amount of everything to make it so good.

10. Who is more stubborn? We both are, but probably more me than him.

11. Who is the first to admit they are wrong? Again, we both are the same on alot of these, neither of us do more than the other really.

12. Who has more siblings? Me, definately. my parents are divored and I have 13 brothers and sisters all together and he has 3 siblings.

13. Who wears the pants in the family? We share the pants. I put my foot down on some things and he does with others.

14. What do you like to do together? Play games with our friends and watch tv. He hasn't had much time to do much since school started so sometimes if I want to hang out with him, I have to help him with his homework.

15. Who eats more sweets? I do I think. I don't eat very much right after dinner but I have lots of sweet stuff at work with me mostly.

16. Guilty Pleasures? He really likes playing Halo like any other guy. If he has homework or something to do, he always does whatever he can to try to get some Halo playing in.

17. How did you meet? We met at EAC and we were in the same college ward and he was assigned to by my home teacher. He knew one of my roommates that I was living with too, but we really met through home teaching.

18. Who proposed? He will tell you I did, but it's not true. It's a long embarassing story. We were at my friends wedding and we left and then he decided he wanted to go somewhere, so we told his cousin that we were going to be late getting to her house to watch a movie and we ended up stopping at Show Low lake and I knew what he was doing and I started hyperventilating. I didn't know what I was going to do for sure. So he talked to me and calmed me down and we finally came to a conclusion that we were going to get married but he never really asked me specifically so I told him that he had to and he did. So he will say that I proposed because I forced him to ask me, but he did ask me.

Nate is so awesome and I love every moment that I am with him whether it's good, bad, fun, or boring. He is a great husband and always encourages me and picks me up when I am down and always makes me feel good. I am so proud of him and how well he is doing in school so that he can be the provider and I can stay home when we have kids. I love him so much and can't imagine my life without him.

Night Out

So, in our complex, we all decided to have a girls night and boys night. We all met at one apartment at 7 and then split up. Some of the guys decided that they were going to go do the all you can eat shrimp at Red Lobster and some of them decided to just hang out and watch a movie or play a game or something.

We girls though, had alot of fun. Most of us hadn't eaten dinner yet, so we decided that we would go grab mexican food really quick at La Fonda's and then come back and eat. So we did and then we just sat and talked the whole time about girl stuff. That is what girls night is for. Well, there were some girls that decided to bring some crafts to do. I am not crafty in the least bit, but some of the things they were making were pretty cute and I really wish I could just stay at home all day and do crafts and learn to bake cool stuff. One day it will come.

Sorry if this was really boring but, there wasn't much excitement or any detail to go into and I totally forgot to take pictures, but we had so much fun and I am so happy that we are here in Flagstaff and especially in the complex we live in.

County Fair

So for Labor Day weekend we stayed here in good old Flagstaff for the wonderful 3 day weekend. I really didn't mind staying because we have been traveling so much over the last few weekends, I was so happy to stay home and clean my house.

We decided on Saturday though that we didn't want to stay home all day and all night so we went to the Coconino County Fair!! We only took 20 dollars though and said that was all we were going to spend, and we did. When we first got there, we walked by a tent that had a polka band playing there and so of course, Nate had to stay and listen to at least 2 songs and then they took a break and then of course, he had to talk to them about it, since there was a tuba player in the band. He got so excited and the guy he was even talking to told Nate all the groups that he could join next year and that they could give him a spot. Nate was very excited.

Next at the fair was the games. We decided to play games before the rides which was a bad mistake because the games got so addicting that we didn't have money left over for the rides. That's ok though. We decided to play the game where you shoot the water at a target out of a gun and then the monkey climbs to the top and whoever gets there first is the winner. We played that like 3 or 4 times and didn't win anything. It was sad. But then Nate decided he wanted to pay to throw balls at plates and try to break them and he broke one plate so he won a little orange whale and then let me have it. He is so sweet.

After we were all done playing the games. We had a few dollars left. Not enough for rides, but enough for a treat. So we went to Dairy Queen on the way home and got us some Blizzards. We had alot of fun and were so glad to be able to go on a real date together and to spend the whole weekend together.

The wait is over

My first part of training for Saladmaster is done! YAY! I had to cook 4 dinners in 15 days and I had to do it all in Mesa over 3 different weekends. I finally got it all done and now I have to cook 6 dinners in 15 days and then my training is over. I can do the 6 dinners in Flagstaff though which is nice because my friends are here and i have people at work too. It will be so nice to just get started.

Nate is also starting school today. I am so glad. He is also still working at the Learning Assistance Center as the front desk person for the tutoring center. He is only working 10 hours a week but it will be good for him and his busy schedule and all the practicing that he has to get in. He had auditions yesterday where everyone auditioned and then they decided which group they wanted you to play in. There is Wind Symphony, Concert band, and Orchestra and Wind Symphony is the top one that everyone works to get into. Nathan placed 2nd chair in Wind Symphony!!! He did so amazing! I am so proud of him. He had such a stressful time making sure he got all of his practicing in and he even had to borrow someone else's music because he left his in Show Low on accident. He is very happy with the result of it and just being able to play again. I know he is going to do awesome here at NAU.

Other than those big events, we were able to buy a new camera this weekend too. Which means I will hopefully get some pictures of stuff up here soon. We were also able to see my mom and family last weekend too. We stayed at my grandparents house with them and it was alot of fun. My brother Dallin is now playing football and he had just gotten done playing a game when we saw them and I feel so bad for him, but he knew what he was getting into when he started.

I will probably update very soon again, but that's it for now.

Trip to the Valley

We took a trip down to Mesa this weekend and got many things accomplished. It was so fun.
(side note: Nate helped with this post by uploading the first picture)
For starters, WE GOT A NEW CAR!!!! Yes, it's true. Our little Dodge Neon was giving us many a problem and just didnt feel very safe to drive and so we started looking around at different thing up here in Flagstaff and there was never one car that we loved that was in our price range, so we decided that we would look down in the valley this weekend while we were there. We did a little shoping online on cars.com before we left and I was thinking of getting a crossover type car, so I looked at all the big brands and we found a Nissan Murano that was in our budget and it was the one I fell in love with. We went down and found the dealership, showed them the paper with the car on it, and we test drove it and fell in love with it. So we went inside and talked numbers. They couldn't get the monthly price right where we wanted it, but I think we will make it work in the next few months. It's an '05 Murano, black on the outside and inside, and has a CVT transmission which is Nate's favorite feature. It doesn't get as good of mileage as we wanted, but it was just too good to pass up. We love it and know that it will last us for such a long time.
Just after we bought our car, we were really hungry and we were right by Old Country Buffet. So we stopped there and ate. It was so much fun for me especially, because my grandparents use to take us there once in a while and we could eat whatever we want. I called my mom while we were there and shared the moment with her via phone.
The other thing we got accomplished this weekend was half of my training for Saladmaster. It was really nerve racking for me, but I cooked the dinners in front of my 2 best friends so that helped out a little bit and I felt a little more comfortable. I did about half of the dinner presentation on Saturday but I am going to double my workload on Friday and Saturday of this week. I'm very nervous for this weekend, even though I am cooking for my friends again. The big part of the presentation does not have a script, so Im sure I am going to mess up or forget to say something really important. It will be good though. There will be a trainer with me the whole time. So I hope it goes well. All I have to do is cook the last 2 dinners down in the valley and then I am free to be on my own in Flagstaff. I have a few dinners already set up that I know I can do. So I hope it all comes together soon. I am way excited for it and hope I can grow in it like I want to.

Now we are home, and very happy, but very exhausted. Hopefully I can catch up on some sleep, but I doubt it. Nate doesn't have to work at all for the next two weeks. There is a two week break between the summer classes and fall classes so, since he works at a tutoring center, he won't be needed because if there is not classes, then nobody needs tutoring. He is doing really good there though, but he is thinking of getting back to working with an autistic child again, which he loves. So we hope that works out.
Other than that, I need to get my camera fixed so I can get more pictures on here and I promise I will try to update soon.

Babysitting fun!

So, Nate's uncle Stacey and his wife Rebecca live here in Flagstaff pretty close to where I work. But, he works right on campus and Nate decided to go in and visit him the other day and he asked us if we wanted to babysit his two little girls for him so his wife and him could go on a date. We said yes, of course, and they dropped them off at our house and they played for like 4 hours. It was alot of fun. Nate kept looking over at me and saying "Are you sure you still want to have kids?" I always answered, "Yes. For sure."

We had to get them to eat their dinner and then we took them outside to play on the little playset that is really right out our front door. Lilly, the older girl, really liked doing the teeter totter stuff that bounced you up and down. Lucky me too, I decided I wanted to do it with her, so I was quite dizzy afterwards. But, I thought I was a trooper and stuck it out til the end. The baby is only like a year and a half, so Nate held her most of the time, because she seemed happier with him. So, after playing outside, we went in to see if they wanted to watch a movie, so we watched some of Sleeping Beauty. Eva stayed good through the movie, but Lilly wanted to be very active and not sit still, which is understandable for a 4 year old.

Near the end of the night though, Nate's friends invited him to play Halo and so I let him go and some of the other girls in our complex, one of them is pregnant, came over and played with us. Lilly decided to be a teacher and we learned about the ocean and got to go on a trip to see the ocean. It doesn't get more exciting than that. Then the parents came home and all came to an end but we had alot of fun with them and hope we can do it again soon. We love little girls!

We're Back

So, I really am trying to do good and keep up with my blog. Sorry it's been such a long time. We have been really busy with work and doing things for my friends wedding these last two weekends. We haven't really had a stay at home weekend for a while so we are glad that we can stay home this weekend.

Well, we are now officially in our ward. They read in our records last week and we are meeting with the bishopbric tonight just as a get to know who you are thing. We are sure we are gonna get callings soon. We just hope it will be something fun. We do also get the privelage of talking in church this Sunday. I guess it's good to get it over with and let it be done for a little while.

The last two weekends have been crazy for us too. We were traveling to Show Low and Mesa to do things for my friends wedding. She went from Sam West to Sam Albach. We are excited for her. The first weekend was the bridal shower that me and one of the other bridesmaids threw for her. It was in Pinedale and it was really fun. So many people helped out and it turned out good. Then the next weekend was her wedding in Mesa. I was the maid of honor and so I stayed at her house with her the night before her wedding and we went to the temple in the morning and the sealing was so beautiful. She is lucky. Then we had pictures and a luncheon which I had to give a speech at. It was very short sweet and to the point but good. I guess. Then we pretty much just hung out with her family until the reception started. I helped her little sister do her hair and then we went and helped set up the reception and finish taking pictures. It was really pretty and it was fun to be there. I didn't get very many pictures cuz my camera is acting funny. But here are the few.

Other than that. We are starting to move up in our world here. I am trying to get started on training for Saladmaster. It's a company that sells this awesome cookware and I just need to get a few couples together in the valley and do a few dinners there and then I'm done and can start cooking full time. I'm really excited for it and hope it works out soon. I have also moved up in job responsibilites at work. I now do all the supply ordering and then just about everything with the invoices that come in. It's alot of fun and I'm glad that it keeps me busy. The people here are really awesome too. Our supervisor treated us to lunch at a really nice lunch buffet and we have done all kinds of cool things. I just love it. I also was able to see one of my good friends, Tanessa, one of the weekends we were in Show Low. She is doing really good and I finally got to meet her husband for the first time. It was so awesome.

Nate has been learning alot of things at his job too. His boss said that she has been able to teach him more things than the last person that was there. He likes it but isn't sure if he is going to keep it for the semester. We will see though. He has been having fun being at home in the afternoon and playing video games with some of the guys in the complex and going disc golfing too. He has become very helpful around the house too. He hates doing dishes but he has done them so much for me lately. He is the best husband ever and I love him so much. He was also very excited this last weekend to have his friend in the valley take him to a D-backs game. It was his first game he had ever been to and he got there early enough to get a free bobble head and he watched batting practice and everything. I was glad he got to go. He loved it too.
Another treat for us this last week, was that our friend from Thatcher, Adrianna, and her fiance came through Flagstaff with his family on their way up to Utah and they stopped by and we got to feed them dinner and visit with them for a little bit. We are so excited for them to get married and had so much fun with them here.
Well, that's it for now. I really am trying to be good at keeping up because I know that I like it when other people keep up with their blog.

4th of July!!

Such a fun weekend for us! We decided that since there isn't much to do in Flagstaff for the 4th, we would go down to Show Low and spend it with our family and friends there. We got there Thursday night and just hung out. Then of course Friday was the big day. We got up early so that we could get ready and meet my mom out in Linden before the parade started at 9. We picked up my little brother and sister and took them to the parade with us since my parents weren't going. We met all of Nate's family and sat with them for the parade. The best part was that all of his family was there. They are hardly ever all together. We also got to meet his brother Joeseph's girlfriend and he looks so happy, we can't help but be happy for him.

The parade was ok. Since it is election year, there was so many people doing campaign floats and there was not a band. We never could figure out why. It wasn't anything too extraordinary. The kids had fun though.
After the parade, we pretty much just hung out with the Whipples and then I got to take a nap, which was amazing, i haven't had one of those for a very long time. Then around 6, we went to a party that my mom invited us to go to with some of her friends and we ate dinner and got to see a few people that we knew too. We hung out there for about and hour and a half and then went to the fireworks at the high school. We were with the West's for the fireworks. It wasn't the best spot but the fireworks were really good. Everyone kept complaining how long they were but I thought it was really nice. The finale was good and we liked it alot. Afterwards, we went back to the Whipples house and played the Wii for a little and then went to bed.
The next day Nate's back was bothering him pretty bad. He had a pain that he normally gets but it wasn't going away, so we didn't do very much that day. We went to lunch with the West's at Fiesta Mexicana and then went and saw our friend Mike and his wife for a minute and then Nate's back was bothering him so much and we felt like we were just getting in the way at the Whipple's house, so we went back to Flagstaff Saturday night. Nate did start to feel better the next 2 days, just as long as he was laying down.

Well, home at last, we had some friends over for games and then we fell asleep and slept for a very long time which was really nice. We went to church and then played some more games with our friends Sunday night too. It was a really fun weekend. Now it's the dreaded monday and Nate starts his new job today and I have plenty at work to keep me busy.
