Pioneer Day Celebration

Pioneer Day kindof a big deal here.  Especially in Snowflake.  This weekend, we decided to crash 2 celebrations for Pinetop Stake and Show Low Stake.
The Pinetop one was a lot of fun and we wanted to go for 2 reasons.  One it sounded like a lot of fun and I knew the kids would love it, and two, Nate was asked to get a tuba quartet together and play for a talent show.  They played 3 songs and for only having one or two practices, they did really good.
They had several people from each ward do different things which was nice to have playing in the background.  They also had cotton candy, snow cones, a bounce house, and a dunk tank for the bishops and stake presidency to take turns sitting in.  We also got to have lunch and play on the playground.
Of course in the end, we got rained out and everyone had to run to their cars at the same time.  It was super fun and the boys loved it.
Cute story: Just before we left, I had to take Merrick to the car and change his diaper, but after I got him all changed, he flat our refused to leave the car.  He just wanted to play and "drive".  I even told him I was walking away to go throw away his diaper and he just sat there and stared at me but totally refused to leave the car.  So it turned into us playing in the sunroof before the rain started.
Then later that night, we wanted to leave the house again and wanted food from somewhere else so we went to the Show Low stake celebration.  Nate's mom went with us and we saw lots of our friends.  They had a bunch of games set up on the baseball field which we played for a few minutes.  Merrick really liked throwing plastic pigs through holes and Kayton liked a games of squirting ping pongs off of a stand.
Then we ate dinner and got to talk to a bunch of friends.  They also had someone come take pictures of families in front of a fun truck which I was excited for.  We love celebrating this holiday.
